I have decided to write this review as I read the book. I will provide my thoughts as I progress from chapter to chapter.To start, I am a polyamorous, kinky wife. My husband and boyfriend both want to be dominated. Both relationships are normal, natural and healthy. I bought this book to help me get a better idea on where to start. Three pages in the author states, "you will not read anything about having multiple partners or any other behavior that is destructive to relationships. . . . This book is for married couples, plain and simples."
The author also states, many times, that most women do not feel dominant because it isn't the natural role of things. Although she has met "a few" with a "dominant gene." I find this to be sexist.
In chapter four the author discusses her erotica on two full pages. Her examples include spanking and panties, warning against using a popular fetish, degradation. I have known many people into this fetish and who openly indulge in it. Her examples of humiliation are mild, despite the warning that they may be too extreme. I suppose if you are a complete newbie, cum eating may be extreme. But cum eating is as far as it goes.
Likewise, her next chapter, "Punishments," is lacking. Most of it is writing assignments and the final two being chores and corner time with a chastity device on. Again, mild at best. Google provides better punishments and is free.
Chapter 6 is completely dedicated to spanking. After some basic do's and don'ts, she goes over different implements you can use and different positions. Everything from a wooden spoon to a flogger. I will give props for the dice game mentioned at the end. But if you are part of any BDSM online community, you will probably already came across this basic idea. I do like the idea of picking the implement being a game.
Chapter 7 is dedicated to anal and the author very briefly goes over anal play safety. Even being coy and saying "umm.... can get lost in there." This is a BDSM book, I feel that the lack of anal safety in this chapter is disappointing and irresponsible on behalf of the author.
The final chapter, chapter 8 she says I hope this book helps you to help your husband's fantasy come true. Going back to the point she so badly wanted to make earlier about how most women don't naturally feel dominant.
Oh! And if any damage is caused by spanking too hard with your wooden spoon, the publishers are not responsible.
All in all, this book is for very, very, very basic beginners. If you have never asked your husband to do the dishes, this book would be a great start! But it is not for anyone in the LGBTQ+ community, as it is very husband/wife-centric and specifically states that other relationship dynamics are "destructive . . . . plain and simple."

Initially I was the more submissive of the two of us, but over the years we have begun experimenting with me being more dominant. I would consider us to be more of a switch couple, but I'm learning to fulfill his need for my dominance in the relationship. At first, and still, I am a little reluctant to fulfill the dominant role, this book has shown that feeling is normal and has given me ideas and confidence to proceed. Over the last few months I have really started to enjoy playing a more dominant role in our relationship and I can see how important and satisfying it is for him. The one thing that is stressed in this book and that cannot stress enough is trust and communication. Luckily we have been blessed with a great relationship that has never included judgement. I have grown to enjoy doing things with and to him that I would've never thought possible. Be open minded-as they say you won't know if you like it until you try it!
Instructional, easy to follow and very helpful. I enjoyed it and will add a few of her tips to my repetoire. Thanks!

An interesting read if this is the topic you are looking for.
It was shorter than I had anticipation. More content would have been good.
I think it is a good book with basic information for couples who are curious about BDSM. The book mentions the use of diapers, don't let that scare you off, it is not a requirement for BDSM play. I think the title is a bit misleading though since the title Dominatrix is more commonly used for a professional Domme/Domina.
